~ Christmas Surprise...~
While in the midst of working long, long hours at the hospital, it is very refreshing to come home to a GOOD surprise. My oldest daughter had a creative moment and got busy. Here is the result.....I have always thought that old mannequin's would be a wonderful base for new ideas. Nina and I have talked about decking one out for Christmas for years. And as usual, time flies and before you know it several of those moments come and go...Wishing everyone a Wonderful Simple Thanksgiving and to appreciate all the things life has to offer,
especially the simple things...

~ Shades of Grey ~
Finally getting settled into the new space at Lone Star Antiques.....Trying to be a little more "hip". Shades of deep pewter grey and white opalescent stencils. Still have to stick to the ol white chippy treasures. Plans for a Christmas redo are ahead,
and hopefully will be done by Christmas...

~Back in Black~
It's been a while since my last post, but I am pleased to say that I am now back at Lonestar Antique Mall here in Watauga, Tx. Amongst my busy nursing schedule, I have found some time for my daughter and I to share a booth at Lonestar. We have been filling it with some great shabby pieces and some handmade items as well. My daughter decided to take a few photos of the booth yesterday, and yes the walls are painted a lovely black! Please enjoy!

~ Light Part 2....~
~ AFTER.......~
~ BEFORE ......~
As I seem to be on a light kick lately, I thought the dining room should be the next project. Luckily while visiting a local thrift shop several months ago, I stumbled on a wonderful newer chandelier that I thought would go perfect with the dining room colors. ( And at the price of $50.00 who could go wrong...) Or, if I decided to, could be painted later a different color. Question was is this thing going to work? Well it does and I love the results. I bought a cord cover from my friend Dorothy, aka Shabby Y at Lone Star, and here is how it looks.......

~ I See The Light....~
~ AFTER....~
~ BEFORE.....~
Sometimes the simplest touch can make the greatest impact. I have had this neat old iron and wood chandelier for quite some time now. Knowing exactly where to put it wasnt the issue, just getting it done is the hard part if you do not know how to do it. Luckily, my brother volunteered and the results are lovely...Add a burlap cord cover and instant shabby prim....

~ ETSY....~
I have missed blogging, but I am greatful to be working. I feel like I am soooo behind in the times. Or maybe, I am just getting old. Spring is here and I can already feel the heat. Will we have another one of those hot summers? After a very weird and cold winter, I am ready for some mild weather. I am slowly getting back to decorating in the house a bit. I do mean slowly. I love the old metal mail boxes, so I decided to hang one on my kitchen wall and fill it with goodies......

~ A Big Hello...~
~ Sweet Sushi who appears to have snuck a little Nyquil...~
~ Mr Presley...Sporting a red moustache..~
~ Mr Charley...~ (Great Smile)
The New Year has arrived and I have been nursing a cold for over a week. I felt I needed a blog fix so I decided to post a couple pics of some cuties. Charley is Lynn's newest baby. He is a Yorkie Poodle mix-and has the ears to prove it!!!. And then there is my Presley who seems to have become my shadow. Let's not forget my sweet Sushi who prefers the warmth of a robe and a free ride....
