~ The French Mannequin ~

" You can access the new blog by going to http://www.thefrenchmannequin.blogspot.com or link to it from this page where you can access my Blog shop...."

As I was sitting down last night with my oldest daughter I made the comment that I would like to start another blog that dealt strictly with vintage projects. Not necessarily projects that I do myself, but projects that I find or buy and would love to give the idea back out to lady bloggers. It amazes me how many different types of renditions we are capable of if only some of us had a starting point. Hopefully this will be a fun blog and give great ideas to bloggers and also for me to hopefully get great ideas back.....My oldest daughter came up with the name The French Mannequin which I thought was a pretty wonderful name-so I used it.

~ A Chic Boutique ~

" Who says fashion has to be boring....."
" The colors and textiles of lace and silks in a dreamy cream color....."

" Antiques mixed with clothes...What a great idea..."

" I'm loving the huge chandelier...."

There's a new look in town....you guessed it-at Lone Star Antiques. Even though clothes are not antiques, they can sure make you feel like they are just by looking at their colors and textures. And what is the grandest color? Cream of course!!!! Jennifer has outdone herself with completing this huge task in the far back of the mall. The huge chandelier and wonderful old counter invites you to come in and start trying on the clothes and accessories. Take a peek and tell me if you don't think the colors go right along with our favorite neutral colors.....

~ Hot Flash Less ~

Don't be jealous!!! The Cello is now mine-thank you Denis-I love it !!!!!.....

" Bountiful..."

" Old window frames and bird cages-what a great idea!!!" ........

Well, I have to say that I have really enjoyed the last few days of cooler weather. Took a trip to Lone Star today and had a wonderful lunch with Denis (thank you) and Lynn. He was redoing his space and Lynn and I were-you know -shopping as usual (as if I don't have enough already). Now if these little scattered showers would just leave maybe I can get to more painting. Round Top tomorrow for the lucky bums that get to go-not me, yet again another October is flying by and I will miss all the goodies......Well, there is always Spring.......

~ A Few of My Favorite Things....~

Wow have the weeks flown or what? I can't keep track of the days, and with all this rain I feel like I have been majorly house bound. Love the cooler temps though. Perhaps I will get motivated once again in the booth aspect of my life. I have spent so many hours painting the kitchen and other parts of the house that I feel I have neglected my other passion-the booth! If the rain would be so kind as to disappear for a while I think we can all get busy again painting and scraping and staining. Round Top is around the corner and I have dreamed of going forever. I hope I can make it this year!!! In the mean time I took a few pictures of some of my treasures around the house. You know, those beautiful little trinkets that you just can't live without. Other people may not understand our deep affection for these things-but who cares.......You only live once...........

~ Pretty Pets ~

" Eat your heart out ladies......"
" For Heaven's sake, can't a girl get some beauty sleep?......"

Still completing numerous tasks around the house. I wish the weather would tone down a bit, because it sure doesn't feel like Fall yet. I decided to post some recent pictures of Sushi and Presley with a slightly lush background. It only goes to show that ones pets can become part of the decor....

~ Coasting Along....~

Still in the decorating mode. Painted a little today with my friend Barb. Her daughter and husband have their first home and we are painting away-free rein on all colors. I told her I hope she has the before pictures because the house looks fabulous so far. Wall colors nearly complete-next the floors. Transformations can be amazing and I will post them when it is complete. In the meantime, Lone Star Antiques begins their September Sale starting this Saturday the 4th until the last day of September. It's exciting because you don't know what you will find and what great discounts the dealers are having. I will be working Saturday because they desperately needed me (just kidding). And last but not least I found a few more inspirational photos for you ladies that like new ideas for displaying.......
