" Lots of goodies-now comes the organizing...."
" I think I have a cherub lamp fetish....."
Well, as promised a week has passed and the little bird is not so little any more. We think it is a Morning Dove and have yet to name him or her. It now fits nicely in the palm of my hand and is quite breasty as you can see. The tail is beginning to get gray and white feathers so we will see how the next week fairs with this hungry little thing.....I have gotten a few items of furniture moved around, but there is a long way to go in this house-glad I am not in a hurry...
Wow, that is such an amazing picture of you holding that bird. Some day she/he will be strong enough to fly away... That will be a sad day. Tie a little string around it's ankle. Maybe you'll see it again. Maybe it will stay in the neiborhood. Close to her/his mother. You need pictures, for your scrap book, of you, from the waste up at least, with the bird. And you really do need to give him/her a name. "Pictures speek a thousand words."
ReplyDeleteVery cute pic of the little birdie... and I LOVE those lampshades!

ReplyDeleteWhat a precious little love... yes, I believe that is a baby mourning dove...I have spent a good part of my life (and money!) rescuing baby birds, it makes life so beautiful to know you have saved them, you are a beautiful lady in my book for doing so! I love all God's creatures!
ReplyDelete"cheep, cheep"? ...I think it looks $$$$$! Love the chair and the lamps! The baby is ...priceless! Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteThe bird is so beautiful! I can't get over how much it has grown in a week!

ReplyDeleteHello
ReplyDeleteCute little guy...looks like a morning dove to me. I had a morning dove build it's nest on a porch post leaned up against the front of the shop...so I couldn't sell the post until she left. She had two babies and they really don't stay in the nest that long, she feeds them mostly on the ground. They are very territorial. Good luck with him.
Blessings
Rebecca
LOVE.... it all, Bless that little birdies heart, just adorable! Tootles, Janna
ReplyDeleteLove what you're doing, Tiina. That desk is SO fabulous!
ReplyDeleteLook how big he's getting, boy it doesn't take long which is a good thing for the wild critters. I am so happy you came over to visit, I enjoyed your comment very much. I have to say wow you certainly had your share in raising birds. Now does yours have the tendency to stick around? I have to hand it to you for doing all this because I know what kind of work goes into it, especially with you running around doing your other stuff as well. Your place looks great and I also love cherub lamps. I have a few myself which I'll be probably be showing later down the road. Take Care and don't over do it!
ReplyDeleteHugs are being sent your way-
Dear Sepiadreams, your post inspired me to do a post just now about ladies who do little "saves"... I hope you do not mind that I put a link to your blog in my post, I want everyone to know how special people that rescue God's little creatures really are...
ReplyDeleteAdorable picture of the little bird. Love the chair.

ReplyDeletePlease check out my Flea Market Directory since you love flea markets at: http://www.garagesalestracker.com and let me know what you think!
I'm part of the love the chair club! The little bird is so sweet. Will you keep her as a pet or release her to the wild?
ReplyDeleteI am loving the bird story. The chair married up with the Frenchy desk? Love it! ~Mindy
ReplyDeleteOh, he/she is getting so big. Ever since a sweet mourning dove built a nest over our front porch years ago I've always called them "she" because I would say hello to the mommy whenever I would come and go. She was completely comfortable with us and raised her two babies in our lavender bed!
ReplyDeleteI do think you love the cherub lamps!
