Two days gone and no blog in sight. Wow, I guess the garage redo and the trimming of the bushes today took it out of me. I can feel thankful that it is done (at least the bush trimming). The garage still needs my TLC but it can wait for now. I have been quietly at home completing task after task-and finally seeing a light at the end of the tunnel. Couldn't pass up another opportunity to post some pics of Lynn's home and some of her lake house. I have not been there yet, but am looking forward to visiting. Looks like it will be as lovely as her and SR's home here. By the way, Lynn is the one that took these pics for me (of her lakehouse) so she gets a thumbs up from me.....

~ Soothing Saturday ~
I am loving the weather today. Yesterday muggy and hot, today breezy and cool.....Started "cleaning out" the garage. What exactly is cleaning out anyway? Is it when your mother comes over and grabs everything from the goodwill pile and stuffs her car till it is soooo full that she looks like she is popping a wheely the whole way home? Or is it when your ex drops off your daughter in the middle of your cleaning frenzy and decides he needs half the stuff for his new house when he had the chance nearly a year ago to get what he wanted, but he chose to leave you with it all? Well, which ever it is that is what happened. But rather than gripe about it, I will be happy that I can see the light at the end of the tunnel, and finally put things in order. I hope to get it entirely completed by tomorrow. Now I have no excuse what so ever to not take the goodies to my booth OR stock my poor little Blog Shop that I have neglected terribly....God I love all my stuff but I fear it is a sick obsession of which I need to cure myself of. I have always told myself if you have had that darn storage full for the last 5 years and you pay nearly $200.00 a month for it, think of all the money that has been wasted on "stuff" that I don't even visit or use-I just pay to have it stored. For what? I need to turn over a new leaf and liquidate. That way if I don't have the room to enjoy it, at least let someone else get it so they can enjoy it.....And that is what I am determined to do......

~ Booth Redo ~
The humidity was stiffling today to say the least. We knew it was coming after all that rain. It drains you to the core. I at least made it to Lone Star today to flip flop a bit.....Took the mannequin in because frankly I was tired of stubbing my toe on her stand. I draped a few domino necklaces on her that I sell and there you have it. Didn't take too long, but at least I feel like I have accomplished one thing today....

~ Mannequin Makeover ~
Remember the old yucky brown mannequin that I posted a pic of yesterday? Well after a slight brainstorm here it is...I painted right over the fabric with my usual cream satin paint and then got out the good ol projector and used another rubber stamp transparency. I kind of want to keep this mannequin simple so all I need to do right now is find a simple something to go around her neck. A black and white flower, a domino necklace, a black ruffle? Told you it was a "slight storm"...

~ Blogging Blockage ~
Ok, now I am beginning to feel I am in a rut. Pictures are dwindling to nothing and I have not had an inspiring moment for days....Is it the rain? Is it the A/C that is not yet fixed? Is it lack of inspiring moments......Is there a laxative for this problem? I know this to shall pass, but good grief I wish it would hurry up!!! I will post some "leftovers" as I call them, but that makes them non- the- less gorgeous.......

~ Rainy Day Blues ~
It rained this morning. It rained while I was working. It rained when I got home. It is still raining. The smell is delicious, cool and fresh. But boy is it wet!!! I seem to have run out of pictures to share so until I stock up or come up with a brainstorm, I am posting some magazine pictures that inspire me. They are quite elaborate in their style, but I love all of them. And even if you do not have a champagne budget (like me), there are still ways to achieve these looks without spending a fortune. Buy a used piece of furniture and paint and distress it for a Frenchy vintage feel. Find some inexpensive religious statues (may take a while-but keep looking) and collect them in odd numbers to display with. Gather old vintage gold gilt frames and cover an entire wall with them (side by side and overlapping). These are a few ways that I like to decorate. Take a picture that you love and copy it and keep it with you for those shopping moments. Pull it out of your purse and try to achieve the same look on your budget. You will be pleasantly surprised at how you can create the rooms of your dreams simply and cheaply. Wow! I think I will head out tomorrow with a picture and see what I can find......

~ Sweet Surprise ~
What do you get when you agree to water Lynn's plants for the weekend? Well, she got me the awesomest light blue chippy swirly piano stool thingy. I love it!!! Chippy and dirty and just the right color of antique blue. I placed it at my front door for now and put one of my old gold cherub lamps on it. I also got (well actually Lynn bought it because I didnt have $10.00 at the time-I promise I will pay her back) this wonderful old light bulb cover-or whatever it is. It is beautiful and covered in glass flowers and pearls. I have never seen anything like it-so I put it on the table as well. All in all a nice little trio.....
