Well, one could get spoiled with the wonderful weather we experienced yesterday and hopefully for days to come. Spring Break is next week. Hmmmmm, is that a good thing? I used to wait eagerly for vacations from school, but nowadays kids get bored the minute the bell rings. How does one appease a bored 14 year old girl? Is there ever a right answer or the right thing to do? Weather permitting we might go junking (not that kids like that) spend some time out doors, clean the garage perhaps, or better yet clean her room. Either way I will have over a week to decide and be reminded everyday how bored she is. Whoa is me!.....

  1. I know how it is when they get bored...BUT...now that mine are 17 and 20 and on the move all the time....how I long for those days when they were right under my feet! (sniff sniff)

Your photos are beautiful! Love that wreath!!!

Have a great week! It is raining here... :(

  2. Hmmm, 14 is a very rough age...both for her and you! I know my mom NEVER understood me, and neither did I understand her!! But, every once in a while, we actually 'clicked'...got along, and even had some fun. Why not plan an outing with her, maybe let her make the plan with a few edits by you as to allowable places and prices. If she has something to look forward to or 'work' on, then maybe she won't be so bored, and you and she will be able to make a great memory! Hope you have a wonderful week, and the pics of your goodies are gorgeous! LOVE the pearls!!!

  7. I know what you're takling about as I have a daughter of the very same age. not only does she get easily bored but getting along with me seems a mission impossible to her.
No more antiquing nor junking with me as she has other priorities now, to use her own words.
Hope you still enjoyed your junkin' trip.
    gorgeous pics.

I remember 14 as being a difficult age, so enjoy it because as soon as you turn around she will be grown.

  10. Love your blog and your pics! My daughter is now 30, but I remember 14 and those stages! Sometimes she went junking with me but she really did not enjoy it so much until she found something she liked to collect! Then every trip was a mission and it all worked out better. She tells me often now how much she appreciated those times! Pam

  11. Hi
Just love your creamy white images...
I raised 5 girls and 1 boy and the one thing they did not do was complain to me about being bored...the minute one of them did, I put them to work. They always seemed to find something to do :) I think it is important that kids entertain themselves, this might age me but today they are so used to tv, computer and action and stimulus they don't know how to just be still and do something simple.
Sorry I will get off my soap box now... we all figure out things in our own time
